Where to Get Your Fourth of July Eats On

Didn’t make plans for the Fourth? No sweat. Here are some local spots that’ll be serving up delicious BBQ all day long. And the best part is — you won’t have to wash a single dish.

Backyard BBQ at The Kitchen Step
Before you head to the big fireworks show, stop by The Kitchen Step for a 4th of July Backyard BBQ featuring classic dishes like St. Louis-style ribs, burgers, fried chicken, and corn bread. The special menu will be available from 11am to 6pm.

Corndogs at Piggyback Bar
Come early, stay late. That’s the motto at Piggyback Bar, which will have front row seats for the Grucci fireworks show. Plus, chef Leah Cohen is debuting the Piggyback Corndog — an Allen Brothers hot dog dipped in jalapeño corn batter and topped with Piggyback Bar’s special sauce made from ketchup, sriracha, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and more. (Note: that’s the Piggyback Banh Mi in the photo; not the corndog).

Fourth of July Cookout at Mathews
Mathews is hosting its first ever Fourth of July Cookout with food specials that will be available through Sunday, July 8th. New dishes include Habanero Peach BBQ Ribs, Lobster Rock Shrimp Rolls, and Kobe Chili Cheese Dogs. You can check out the full menu here.

Gin & Juice Special at Taphaus
Taphaus is celebrating the Fourth doggystyle with a $6 gin & juice special in honor of Snoop’s Jersey City performance tonight.

Liquid Brunch at Lutze
The calendar may say Wednesday, but the Lutze is in holiday mode and will commence its Fourth of July party at noon. They’ll remain open through the fireworks show.
