Portuguese supper club coming to Eira

Eira Cafe is hosting its first Portuguese supper club this Friday, August 13. The dinner comes with a complimentary Portuguese wine pairing. There are limited seatings available at 6pm and 9pm this Friday. Eira supper club dinners will be held 2x per month going forward. RSVPs are required (you can contact the cafe via their Instagram).

Jersey Avenue extension opens to traffic

The Liberty State Park Bridge, which extends Jersey Avenue into Liberty State Park, is now open to vehicular traffic. The park opened to traffic on Wednesday, August 4. The extension has northbound and southbound lanes, sidewalks, and two (unprotected) bicycle lanes.

New cafe coming to Brunswick Street

In the Void Coffee and Antiques is coming to 115-117 Brunswick Street (between 1st and 2nd Street), reports Jersey Digs. The cafe will showcase furniture and antiques that are rare with a focus on 20th century modern design. They will offer Ithaca’s Forty Weight Coffee Roasters along with a rotating menu of unique coffee. You can follow them on Instagram for updates.

La Festa Italiana begins August 11

La Festa Italiana is back for 2021! The street/food festival will run from Wednesday, August 11 through Sunday, August 15. La Festa Italiana began in 1902 as a street festival in honor of Our Lady of the Assumption and St. Rocco. Years later, thousands of parishioners (and non-parishioners) from Holy Rosary Church in downtown Jersey City’s Village neighborhood are still celebrating. The 5-night food, crafts, and music fest typically runs from 5pm till 11pm.
