KO Cafe Jersey CityIt’s turning out to be a busy weekend in Jersey City. From a music night at KO Cafe to a paella dinner at Cafe Madelaine, here’s the best of what’s happening in JC.

Thursday Events

What: Zeppelin Hall Meatball Fest
When: through Sunday, April 28
Where: 88 Liberty View Drive
Zeppelin Hall is celebrating all things meatball-related with its Meatball Festival. Head to the beer hall to order from 12 different international meatball entrees.

What: Live Music Monthly at Ko Cafe
When: Thursday, April 18 from 7:30pm
Where: 722 Grand
Neighborhood coffee shop Ko Cafe hosts live music every third Thursday of the month. Tonight the cafe welcomes violist Kayla Williams. Doors for the event open at 7pm and the 1-hour set starts at 7:30pm. The event is BYOB and there will also be non-alcoholic drinks for sale.

What: Pet Shop JC Live Gigs
When: Thursday, April 18 from 8pm
Where: 193 Newark Avenue
Live music returns to Pet Shop JC featuring The Scene Is Now, Glenn Morrow’s Cry For Help, and Abbie from Mars. Meanwhile, PS Wine Bar will feature performances by Julia Mendes, Renee Maskin, Christina Ward, Chris Dalla Riva, and Ken Depoto.

When: Thursday, April 18 from 8pm to 10pm
Where: 594 Palisade Avenue
ChillBrown float about the realm of neo-soul, performing a melding of poetry and song to tell the stories you’ll find they’ve written you into. Admission is $10/pp.

What: Paella Dinner at Cafe Madelaine
When: Friday, April 19 at 7pm
Where: 34 Coles Street
French bakery Cafe Madelaine is hosting a paella party tonight. You must RSVP to attend.

What: Sonofdov and Renee Maskin at Fox & Crow
When: Friday, April 19 from 9pm to 11pm
Where: 594 Palisade Avenue
New Jersey-based singer-songwriter Dennis King, aka Sonofdov, writes the kind of songs that “transport us and pierce us.” King spent his formative years playing at lower east side clubs such as CBGB’s before settling into the alt-folk singer-songwriter of today. Meanwhile, Renee Maskin is a staple of the thriving music scene in Asbury Park, NJ. Her prolific output pulls from a deep well of influence, from country, to garage, to modern indie-rock. Admission is $10/pp.

What: Marc Del Giudice at Fox & Crow

Marc Del Giudice will celebrate his single release at Fox & Crow alongside David Diange. Admission is $10/pp.

Jersey City Night Market is returning to Journal Square! The outdoor food festival is free to attend and will feature food, live music, and more.

Sunday Events

What: Sommelier Series at The Stork Club
When: Sunday, April 21 from 3pm to 5pm
Where: 2 Chapel Avenue
The Stork Club is a new members-only rooftop bar located at Hudson House (above Felina Steak). Today, the rooftop bar is hosting a wine tasting that pairs six wines with snacks from the 1990s. The event will be led by sommelier Sam Mushman. The event is open to non-members ($55/pp) and members ($44/pp).
