PATH WTC train

This will be a good weekend to avoid heading into the city.

The Port Authority has announced that there will be no 33rd to JSQ PATH train service this weekend due to “necessary signal equipment maintenance.” The WTC PATH train will be the only line operating on Saturday and Sunday. The Port Authority will provide a free, 2-trip MetroCard for transfers to NYC subway connections at the World Trade Center Station only. The MetroCard is valid until 5am Monday, January 27. (There will also be additional WTC service this weekend).

On Sunday, Hoboken to WTC service will be restored. So Sunday you’ll have Nwk-WTC and Hob-WTC service.

During the outage, NJ Transit will cross honor PATH riders on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail between Hoboken, Newport, and Exchange Place. The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will cross honor around-the-clock until 7:59 am, Sunday, January 26.

  • Hoboken and Newport Station Closed: 12:01am January 25 to 7:59am January 26
  • Christopher, 9th street, 14th street, 23rd street, and 33rd street stations closed: 12:01am January 25 to 5am January 27
  • Nwk to WTC line will operate all weekend with additional service

There are other service changes scheduled for Monday, January 27. (The changes appear to be during “off hours,” but you should check them out because they’re pretty big and include a WTC-JSQ via Hoboken line that I don’t think I’ve ever seen before). You can check them all out at the Port Authority PATH website.
