From the Pint’s 10-year anniversary party to Surf City’s last weekend of 2019, here are the best spots to eat, drink, and relax at this last weekend of September.

Friday Events

What: A Little Piece of France Dinner Series at Vogue Cafe
When: Friday, September 27 at 6pm
Where: 177 York Street
Vogue Cafe’s “Little Piece of France” dinner series continues tonight. The BYOB event will be held in the cafe’s outdoor patio. RSVP via Facebook is required.

What: Oktoberfest at the Zeppelin Hall Biergarten
When: Friday, September 29 through October 19
Where: 88 Liberty View Drive
Celebrate Oktoberfest Jersey City style at the Zeppelin Hall Biergarten. The biergarten will launch a new German-inspired menu for the celebration with dishes such as Saurerkraut and Sausage Soup, Schweinebraten (roasted pork), and Schweinshaxe (roasted ham hock). Plus, there will be live German bands playing Thursdays through Saturday nights.

What: PierFest at Exchange Place
When: Friday, September 27 from 6pm to 9pm
Where: J. Owen Grundy Pier
PierFest is a series of four Latin jazz concerts held at the J. Owen Grundy Pier at Exchange Place. The concerts are all free and start at 6pm. Tonight, the concert features Andrea Brachfeld and Phoenix Rising.

What: JC Light-Up Ward Tour with Bike JC
When: Friday, September 27 at 7pm
Where: Meet at Pedestrian Plaza & Barrow
Bike JC is hosting its last Light-Up Bike ride of 2019. Tonight’s casual bike ride will hit up each ward in Jersey City. (Think of it as a nighttime version of the Ward Tour). The friendly/group bike ride is free and open to all cyclists.

What: Comedy Night at JSQ Lounge
When: Friday, September 27 at 8:30pm
Where: 50 Journal Square Plaza
Start your weekend with some laughs as JSQ Lounge hosts another comedy night with Irv Hernandez. The free event starts at 8:30pm and will feature six stand-up comics.

What: Piggyback Bar Final Weekend
When: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Where: Harborside
This is your final weekend to enjoy Piggyback Bar Jersey City. Piggyback’s last day of service will be Monday, Sept. 30.

What: Surf City Final Weekend
When: Friday – Sunday
Where: 1 Marin Boulevard
Enjoy one last weekend of lobster rolls and waterfront views. This is Surf City’s last weekend before they close for the 2019 season. (Their final day for 2019 was supposed to be last Sunday, but they extended it to this Sunday due to the warm weather).

Saturday Events

What: Bark in the Park
When: Saturday, September 28 from 12pm to 4pm
Where: Church Square Park (Hoboken)
Bark in the Park is the Liberty Humane Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year. The event kicks off with a celebratory walk around the Church Square Park and the surrounding neighborhood. The rest of the day will be spent at the park with plenty of activities for pets, families, and kids.

What: Kanibal & Co. Animals of Jersey City 2019 Launch
When: Saturday & Sunday
Where: 197 Montgomery
Kanibal & Co. is launching its new “Animals of Jersey City” line of products.To celebrate the occasion, JerseyCats will be at the store on Saturday (with adoptable kittens) and See Spot Rescued will be at the shop on Sunday (with adoptable pups). A portion of Kanibal’s weekend sales will go to Jersey City-based animal rescues.

What: Pint 10th Anniversary Party
When: Saturday, September 28 from 4:30pm to 3am
Where: 34 Wayne Street
The Pint is celebrating 10 years of being in Jersey City with a giant birthday bash. Expect gifts, guest (former) bartenders, and even a limited edition Departed Soles cans made especially for Pint’s 10-year anniversary.

What: Battle of the Bands at FM
When: Saturday, September 28 from 5pm to 10pm
Where: 340 Third Street
JC Studios and FM are hosting the 3rd Annual Battle of the Bands. Nine bands will get 15 minutes to perform and impress three judges including Jim Testa from NJ.com, Emmy Black from Rhyme & Reason Records, and Sabrina Braswell from White Eagle Hall. Audience members will also get to vote for a People’s Choice Award. A $10 suggested donation is encouraged. Proceeds will benefit the All Stars Project.

Riverview Wine

What: Natural Wine Class at Riverview Wine
When: Saturday, September 28 from 6pm to 8pm
Where: 43 Bowers
Ever wonder the differences between natural wine, organic wine, and biodynamic wine? Well, Riverview Wine will explain everything in its natural wine class/tasting. You’ll taste 8 natural wines throughout the evening. Admission is $45. (Heads up, they’re also hosting a Croatian wine/food tasting on Saturday, October 12).

What: Dullboy Sunday Tea Party
When: Sunday, September 29 from 3pm to 6pm
Where: 364 Grove Street
Cocktail bar Dullboy is hosting its third Sunday Tea Party. The bar will serve its version of boozy English-style tea along with house-made punch and Dullboy-style bites. Admission is $45/pp (a party of at least two people is required to make reservations).
