What: Jersey City Police and Fire 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive
When: Friday, September 11 from 8am to 6pm
Where: Canopy by Hilton at 159 Morgan
The 6th Annual JC 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive will be held today at the Canopy by Hilton. There will be various safety precautions in place (such as mask wearing and temperature checks) and donors must make an appt in order to donate blood. To schedule an appointment, go to the Red Cross website and use the code “Jersey City 911” in the “find a blood drive” search box on the upper right corner of the website.

What: NJ 9/11 Memorial Ceremony
When: Friday, September 11 from 3pm
Where: Empty Sky Memorial at LSP
The NJ 9/11 Memorial Ceremony will be held at the Empty Sky Memorial in Liberty State Park. Due to the pandemic, masks and social distancing will be required.

What: Brightside Tavern “Take a Compliment” 1-Year Anniversary Show
When: Friday, September 11 from 7pm to 9:30pm
Where: 141 Bright Street
The Brightside Tavern is celebrating the 1-year anniversary of its “Take a Compliment” show with a mini music and comedy festival. The show is free to attend, but tips for the performers are welcome and appreciated.

What: Yoga at Canco Park
When: Saturday, September 12 from 9am to 10pm
Where: 70 Dey Street
Kick off your weekend with an hour of outdoor yoga led by Jessica Strickler. The class is free and open to all levels. Masks are required and you must bring your own mat.

Where: Jordan Avenue (from Montgomery to Orchard)
The McGinley Square Pedestrian Plaza is back. The McGinley Square SID has organized another pop-up along Bergen Avenue (from Duncan to Reed). The pop-up will occur Saturday & Sunday from noon till 10pm and will highlight food from local eateries like Guerrero, Coconut Latin Caribbean Grill, ITA Kitchen, and more.

Jersey City Neighborhood Cleanup

What: Jersey City Neighborhood Cleanup (Ward E)
When: Saturday, September 12 from 10am to 2pm
Where: Van Vorst Park
Ward E Councilman James Solomon, non-profit Keep Jersey City Beautiful, and non-profit Adopt a Block are teaming up with Clean Green Jersey City for a 5-week street clean-up campaign that starts today at Van Vorst Park. Meet your neighbors, take in some Vitamin D, and help keep Ward E’s streets clean. (You can sign up via this Google form).

Corgi Spirits is hosting two back-to-back comedy shows at its outdoor patio tonight. The first show runs from 7pm to 8:30pm and the second show from 9pm till 11pm. Admission is $20/pp and there will be a cash bar with Corgi cocktails.
