Friday Events

What: Jersey City Pierfest at Exchange Place
When: Friday, September 10 from 6pm to 9pm
Where: J. Owen Grundy Pier
This Friday will mark the last Pier Fest concert of the summer. Musicians for Friday evening’s free performance include the Edsel Gomez “Triumvirate” and Grammy award-winning Doug Beavers. (This event was postponed from August 27).

What: JC Fridays Art Shows
When: Friday, September 10 from 7pm to 10pm
Where: throughout Jersey City
JC Fridays is back with in-person events happening through the city. The quarterly arts festival includes pop-ups, live musical performances, art galleries, and more. You can check out the full list of events here.

What: Jersey City Rocks at White Eagle Hall
When: Friday, September 10 from 7pm
Where:

Jersey City Rocks is a concert showcasing local artists and musicians. Friday’s lineup includes June and the Pushas, Billion Man Rebellion, Big Wake, James Calleo’s Widely Grown, and Debra Devi. Plus, there will be an art exhibit by local artist Robert Piersanti. General admission is $15/pp. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for entry.

Where: Grove Plaza
Join Bike JC for the penultimate Light Up Bike Ride of the season. The casual bike ride will leave from Grove Plaza at 7:30pm sharp, so arrive early.

What: Corgi Comedy Club
When: Friday, September 10 at 8pm
Where: 1 Distillery Drive
The Corgi Comedy Club is back for another night of laughs. The show will take place at the distillery’s patio (social distancing will be in effect). There will be stand-up comedy along with a cash bar. Admission is $20/pp.

Saturday Events

What: The Cottage Apple Fest
When: Saturdays from 9am to 12pm
Where: 136 Monticello Avenue
Fall has arrived early at The Cottage Jersey City. The cafe is hosting an Apple Fest every Saturday and Sunday in September. Enjoy pies, pastries, cider, and more apple-centric treats. You can also stick around for their 12pm weekend jazz brunch held in their backyard. As a reminder, The Cottage is BYOB.

What: Live Music at Belle Ame Cafe
When: Saturday, September 11 from 11am to 2pm
Where: 76 Cottage Street
Belle Ame Cafe is hosting its last free jazz performance of the summer this afternoon. Head to the cafe for some good coffee, pastries, and music by the Ted Chubb Trio.

What: Smorgasburg Jersey City
When: Saturday, September 11 from 11am to 6pm
Where: 195 Hudson
Smorgasburg is back at Harborside for another weekend of eats. The outdoor market will offer food from numerous vendors including Cake Jars, Salt & Seed, Carlitos Barbecue Taqueria, D’Abruzzo, and more. The market will operate every Saturday through October. Admission is free and there will be various outdoor dining options throughout Harborside.

What: Belgian Plate Weekend Brunch

Where: District Kitchen at 210 Hudson Street
The Belgian Plate will open at District Kitchen this Saturday from noon till 6pm. They’ll be serving their signature waffles and crepes.

What: Empty Sky Memorial Ceremony

Where: Empty Sky Memorial at Liberty State Park
The Empty Sky Memorial Ceremony will commemorate 20 years since the 9/11 attacks. The event is rain or shine and will begin at 2pm.

What: Grand Opening of the Outpost
When: Saturday, September 11 from 3pm
Where: Berry Lane Park

What: Empty Sky Memorial 5K Run/Walk
When: Sunday, September 10 at 8:30am
Where: Empty Sky Memorial at Liberty State Park
The Empty Sky 5K is a race/fundraiser for the NJ 9/11 Memorial Foundation, a 501 C3 non-profit organization. Proceeds from the race will be used to care for and preserve the Empty Sky monument at Liberty State Park. You can still register for the run online ($35/pp) or sign-up on the morning of the race ($45/pp).

What: Movie Night at Dull boy
When: Sunday, September 12 at 8pm
Where: 364 Grove Street
