What: Ghost of Uncle Joe’s Dress Rehearsal at Corgi Spirits
When: Thursday, October 21 from 7pm to 11pm
Where: 1 Distillery Drive
Corgi Spirits will be hosting a dress rehearsal for Saturday night’s Ghost of Uncle Joe’s Halloween party/concert. The night will include five sets with cover bands playing songs from Lou Reed, Talking Heads, Pat Benetar, David Bowie, and more. Admission is free.

What: The Ghost of Uncle Joe’s Halloween Ball
When: Friday, October 22 from 5pm + Saturday all day
Where: Harsimus Cemetery at 435 Newark Avenue
The Ghost of Uncle Joe’s is an annual rock show/costume party held at the Harsimus Cemetery. Local musicians will perform covers from The Strokes, David Bowie, The Clash, The Ramones, and more. There will also be food and beer sold by local food trucks. After parties (with more cover bands) are slated for Lo-Fi, JSQ Lounge, Corgi Spirits, Porta, and Pet Shop. Tickets are $20/pp or $50 for Friday night + all day Saturday.

What: Caviar & Bubbles at CoolVines
When: Friday, October 22 from 5pm to 8pm
Where: Powerhouse (350 Warren) + 276 Grove
Local wine shop CoolVines is hosting a “caviar and bubbles” tasting at both of its locations this evening. The event is free to attend.

What: Midnight Market at 902 Brewery [SOLD OUT]
When: Friday, October 22 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm + 9:15pm to 12am
Where: 101 Pacific Avenue
Midnight Market is back for an October beer and food fest in Jersey City’s own 902 Brewery. The first session will run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm ($10/pp) and it’ll include food for purchase, local beer, live music, and games. The second session will run from 9:15pm to 12am ($35/pp) and it’ll include a silent dance party that’ll be held at the 902 Brewery rooftop. There will be three DJs playing different genes of music and partygoers will rent wireless headphones that can tune into any of the three DJ sets.

What: No Dogs Left Behind Dog-A-Thon Fundraiser
When: Saturday, October 23 at 10:30am
Where: Korean War Memorial 158 Washington Street
No Dogs Left Behind Jersey City is hosting its first Dog-a-Thon this weekend. The event is open to everyone (puppers included) and will include a Halloween costume contest with prizes for the top three costumes. There’s a $50 registration fee which includes admission and one special edition NDLB t-shirt. Online registration is available through October 22nd and same-day registration will also be available. The non-profit works to raise awareness of the slaughtering of innocent dogs.

The second-to-last Smorgasburg market is here. Head to Harborside for another weekend of eats with food from the likes of Cake Jars, Salt & Seed, Carlitos Barbecue Taqueria, D’Abruzzo, and more. Admission is free and there will be various outdoor dining options throughout Harborside.

What: The Cottage Weekend Jazz Trio
When: Saturdays from 12pm to 3pm
Where: 136 Monticello Avenue
The Cottage Jersey City is hosting live musical performances every weekend. (Note, they recently tweaked the time so the music starts and finishes later in the day). The socially distanced event is held in The Cottage’s outdoor patio. As a reminder, The Cottage is BYOB (and they offer killer pastries and brunch sandwiches).

What: Jersey City Craft Brew Fest
When: Saturday, October 23 from 1pm to 4:30pm + 6pm to 9:30pm
Where: 107 Morgan (the parking lot adjacent to CoolVines Powerhouse).
The JC Craft Brew Fest is a suds-filled evening of brews and eats. Guests will be able to sample unlimited refills of local beer ranging from Jersey City’s Departed Soles to NJ Beer Co. Head to Corgi Spirits for an early Halloween party complete with drag performers, burlesque dancers, a live DJ, tarot readings, queer vendors, raffles, and a costume contest. Admission is $30/pp and proceeds will benefit Hudson Pride Center and the night’s LGBTQ+ performers and vendors.
