The Law of Donutgineering is bringing its oversized, chewy yeast donuts to Jersey City Heights.

Owned and operated by Edward Alfonso and Flavia Carballo, the Law of Donutgineering (also known as the LoDG) is a donut shop now open at 7 Bleecker Street, reports Hoboken Girl. Here, donuts pack big, bold flavors like their signature El Balsero, a guava cake donut drizzled with cream cheese and guava glaze. There’s also El Gauchito, a fluffy yeast donut filled with dulce de leche and pineapple. Both donuts are an homage to Alfonso’s and Carballo’s backgrounds highlighting the flavors of Cuba and Argentina, respectively.

But those aren’t the only sweet treats you’ll find at the Law of Donutgineering. The LoDG will also offer a fig caramelized bacon donut, a Nutella donut, and a sweet plantain donut playfully called the Platanough.

The Law of Donutgineering is no stranger to Jersey City. They’ve operated from a kitchen in Hoboken over the past few years. Their treats have been available at spots like 9 Bar Cafe in Jersey City and Jefferson’s Coffee in Hoboken. They were also a part of the Hoboken Art and Music Festival and the JC Beer Festival. The shop in the Heights is their first dedicated donut shop and cafe.

You can follow The LoDG’s Instagram account for the shop’s opening hours during their soft launch this weekend.
