NJ MVCNeed to renew your license or registration? You may be in luck. NJ MVC is extending expiration dates for all standard driver’s licenses (including permits), non-driver IDs, vehicle registrations, inspections, and temporary tags.

After reopening to long lines and lots of confusion last week, Governor Phil Murphy is also exempting MVC employees from furlough starting Monday, July 13. That means NJ MVC offices should be fully staffed this week.

Documents expired between March 13 through May 31 have been extended to September 30. Meanwhile, documents expiring June 1 through August 31 have been extended to December 31.

The agency has also posted a FAQ (PDF) with more details on what the agency is doing to avoid long lines at its offices during the coronavirus pandemic.
