Neighborhood Events: Van Hook Cheese Tastings, Whiskey Fest at Harborside, Singles Mixer at HopsScotch

Monday: Whealth Cafe at Harborside will debut a new spring menu for the months of March and April. New items include a Brittani Bowl, Zucchini Bolognese Bowl, and a Spring Fever Bowl.

Tuesday: To commemorate Women’s History Month,  Van Hook Cheese is hosting a cheese tasting class that celebrates all female cheesemakers in the country. Tickets are $50/pp and proceeds will benefit Planned Parenthood.

Tuesday: Marketplace JC is back at the Harborside Atrium with a variety of returning and new vendors. Among them you’ll find Outer Limits Hot Sauce, Taproot Organics, and more. The market is open to everyone and is held every Tuesday from 11am to 3pm.

Wednesday: Tap That NJ is hosting a mixer and speed dating event at HopsScotch. Tickets cost $25/pp at the door and the night will include a pre-event mixer, one hour of speed dating rounds (from 7pm to 8pm), and a post event mixer (from 8pm to 9pm). [This event was postponed from last week due to the storm].

Thursday: Forget wine and cheese. Van Hook Cheese’s second class this week will pair your favorite cheeses with delicious gin picked by Jersey Wine & Spirits. Tickets are $50/pp.

Friday: Kick off the weekend with Jersey City’s first Whiskey Fest — a festival with hundreds of whiskey, rum, cognac, and spirit makers. Use coupon “JCUPFRONT” to take $15 off admission.

Friday: Modcup’s Journal Square Cafe will host a Latte Throwdown Friday at 7pm. The competition is open to anyone ($5 to compete) and the winner takes all.

Saturday: Capitol Wrestling debuts this weekend at Jersey City’s Cathedral Hall. Saturday’s wrestling event will include seven matches including tag team and singles matches.
