The wait is almost over. Madame Modern Bistro & Cocktail Parlor (390 Fourth Street) is now taking reservations for its soft opening on Wednesday, November 23.

Madame is, of course, the revamped version of Madame Claude Bis, which closed this past July. Owners Alice Troietto and Mattias Gustafsson stepped down after 20 years of operating the popular neighborhood eatery. Upon announcing their retirement, they reached out to the team behind neighboring Cellar 335 (335 Newark Avenue), which consists of co-owners Jamie Knott, Robert Palmer, and Gabriel Reiben. The trio have turned Cellar 335 into one of the best restaurants in Jersey City and one of our favorite spots for cocktails.

In an interview with North Jersey, Knott described the new menu at Madame as “Pastis in Jersey City.” The new menu includes dishes like Lobster “Thermador” Frites ($45), Mushroom & Truffle Pasta ($28), and a Bone Marrow appetizer ($21.5).

Sneak peeks on the Madame Instagram account also show a redesigned interior with a new cocktail program. Knott also mentioned that Cellar 335 and Madame are connected by a shared door. Once a month, the new owners plan to throw a party for the two restaurants with two different DJs.

Reservations for Madame can be made via Resy.
