Long Island City-based brokerage Modern Spaces is expanding to Jersey City.
The brokerage will help bring 1,800 new rental units to an already booming Jersey City real estate scene.
“We’ve had our eyes on Jersey City for a while now,” said CEO of Modern Spaces, Eric Benaim. “We see huge potential in Jersey City, given the area’s incredible number of transportation options and healthy mix of retail and office space.”
A Queens native, Benaim launched Modern Spaces in 2008 and has been responsible for closing over $3 billion in real estate transactions in New York City to date. The brokerage takes a hands-on approach to real estate and is responsible for pre-development consulting, staging, and selling properties.
Modern Spaces will market five properties in Jersey City. They include 87 Newkirk Street, 26 Van Reipen Avenue, 28-26 Cottage Street, 35 Cottage Street, and 626 Newark Street.
