What: Abita Brewing Takeover at Barcade

Abita Brewing is taking over the taps at Barcade and launching a new exclusive beer — Abita French Quarter IPA. Other beers on tap for the night include Strawberry Harvest Lager, Purple Haze, and more. Barcade will also be serving up a special New Orleans-themed food menu.

Explore The Liberty Science Center at night during the launch of its new series — Friday Nights @LSC. The center will be open till 10pm at which time you can catch a show at the planetarium, browse through exhibits, or gaze at the sky with one of LSC’s telescopes. Plus, enjoy snacks and cocktails available for purchase. A laser show set to the music of Queen is also planned for the night. Admission is $20/pp.

Bergen Lafayette’s The Oak on Pine is now serving brunch items from sister restaurant, Sam A.M. The Sam A.M. menu (PDF) is being offering Wednesdays through Sundays and includes Classic French Toast, Chicken & Waffles, Avocado Toast, Darke Pines Burger (made in collaboration with downtown’s Dark Pines butcher shop), and more.

Cocktail bar Jersey Social has extended its weekend hours and is now serving brunch from 11am to 4pm. Brunch items include a “Hangover” Scrambled Egg Sandwich, South American Eggs Benedict, Egg Tacos, Candied Bacon (pictured), Tuna Poke Tartare, and more.

Head to Journal Square to catch the annual Jersey City St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Want to be in the parade? Bike JC is putting together a group of cyclists that will ride alongside the floats. Check-in for cyclists starts at 11am at JFK Boulevard between Belmont and Bentley Avenues at the east end of Lincoln Park.
