Future of Katyn monument uncertain
Looks like the Katyn statue may not be moving after all. The group that sought to overturn the mayor’s controversial plans to move the statue a few steps away to York street submitted enough valid signatures (6,796 to be exact) to temporarily halt the mayor’s plans. The City Council will now vote on September 12 to reverse the ordinance approving the statue relocation or allow voters to decide in a referendum. —NJ.com

Amish Market coming to Newark Avenue
New York’s Amish Market is slated to open in the former home of Tendershoot Farms at 138 Newark Avenue (Pedestrian Plaza). Amish Market has locations throughout New York including a giant Tribeca market near the PATH WTC station on West Broadway between Park and Murray. New museum to reside in Journal Square
Architecture firm OMA has been tapped by the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency to design the new Jersey City Museum, which is slated to become the largest arts and cultural center in Jersey City. The museum will be located in the 57,000 square foot, 107 year old Pathside Building adjacent to the JSQ PATH station. —The Architects Newspaper
