A new virtual restaurant is coming to downtown Jersey City.
Located in the former home of Me Casa, Ghost Truck Kitchen will serve a variety of food from sandwiches and salads to brisket and chicken wings. However, unlike a traditional restaurant, Ghost Truck Kitchen will be made for pickup and delivery only.
Virtual restaurants are usually created by one company (or team) that operates multiple food delivery services out of one central kitchen. Here in Jersey City you might be familiar with Unboxed Restaurant Group, which operates Don Curry and Pham Vietnamese Kitchen.
Ghost Truck Kitchen, which is owned by Jersey City resident Andrew Martino, will operate in a similar manner. Their menu is not yet finalized, but so far includes:
- Underground Sandwich (hearty sandwiches)
- Bun & Bowl (baos and bowls)
- Salad Gold (salads)
- Meat Candy (wings and brisket)
- The Stinky Bulb (garlic-based dishes like garlic bread grilled cheese)
- Just the Dip (dips)
- Vegan (salad, bao, and veggie-based dishes)
- Side Pieces (a variety of side dishes including beans and cornbread stuffing)
The restaurant’s kitchen (and pickup location) will be located at 356 Varick Street. They’re expected to open before end of the year. In the meantime, you can follow their progress on Instagram.
