Whole Foods is throwing a flower show at Harborside and Ani Ramen is celebrating 1-year of sake/whisky/ramen pairings at District Kitchen. That and many more things to do this week in Jersey City.

Harborside Fitness Week (Monday – Sunday)

Whether you’re training for a fall marathon or just looking to try a few local fitness studios, Harborside Fitness Week is back offering a full week of free fitness classes by local studios.

Beauty Week at Newport Centre (Monday – Sunday)

Newport Mall is offering a mix of savings, deals, and beauty events during Newport Beauty Week. You can check out participating vendors (and their offers) here. (PDF link).

Whole Foods Flower Show at Harborside (Tuesday)

Whole Foods Jersey City is still a ways out, but in the meantime the organic grocer is bringing its annual Flower Show to Harborside. Floral suppliers from around the country will bring in samples for the public to buy at discounted rates. There will also be an Iron Floral Designer contest during the show. Best of all — all proceeds will benefit Jersey City Parks Coalition and Greener Jersey City. The show starts at 2:30pm.

Soul of Sake 1-Year Anniversary (Tuesday)

Ani Ramen is celebrating its one year Soul of Sake anniversary with a sake/whisky/ramen party at its Harborside location. Heads up, you can buy your tickets at Ani Ramen JC for $35, online for $45, or day of at Harborside for $60. Dinner includes Japanese whisky, sake tasting, signature Japanese cocktails, your choice of buns, ramen, and passed appetizers. The party runs from 7pm to 10:30pm.

Music at the Fountain (Wednesday)

Music at the Fountain returns with a free jazz performance by drummer and baliphonist, Winard Harper and Jeli Posse. The family-friendly event runs from 7pm to 9pm.

Departed Soles + Ruth’s Chris Beer & Bacon Dinner (Thursday)

Jersey City brewery Departed Soles is teaming up with Ruth’s Chris for a Beer & Bacon Dinner. The 5-course meal includes beers from Departed Soles paired with Ruth’s Chris’ signature steaks. Admission is $85/pp at Ruth’s Chris in Newport.

Whisky Tasting at Komegashi (Friday)

Enjoy a buffet style dinner accompanied by four different whiskys at Komegashi. Pre-dinner cocktails start at 6:30pm and the buffet dinner starts at 7pm. Admission is $75/pp. Tickets can be purchased by phone or at the restaurant.

PierFest at Exchange Place (Friday)

PierFest is a series of four Latin jazz concerts held at the J. Owen Grundy Pier at Exchange Place. The concerts are all free and take place Fridays at 6pm. Tonight’s concert includes Latin jazz percussionist, Enildo Rasua “The Third Hand.

Art Night at Froth on Franklin (Friday)

Froth on Franklin is hosting an art night at its cafe in the Heights. Falling Leaves will features the music of Mel Nusbaum (jazz pianist), the work of Dawn Raffel (writer), and poetry by Emily Luan. Admission is $16/pp and includes a drink and pastry. The night will benefit Pershing Field Garden.

All About Downtown Festival (Saturday)

The All About Downtown Street Fair is Jersey City’s biggest food fest and one of our favorite Jersey City summer events. The festival sprawls from Grove Plaza to Coles Street. Now celebrating its 9th year, it’ll include vendors from New York and New Jersey selling food, jewelry, art, and more. It’s the perfect way to bid adieu to the summer of 2019.
