From a benefit concert for the victims of the Christchurch attacks to Luna’s 1-year anniversary party — here’s the best of what’s happening in Jersey City this week.

Tax Day Freebies (Monday)

Tax day is here once again. Celebrate with a few local freebies:

  • B.Good: New app users can get a free green bowl, grain bowl, or burger when they use the app for the first time through April 20. Existing app customers can get free fries with any purchase.
  • Dunkin Donuts: DD Perks members can get a medium hot or iced coffee for $1.
  • Potbelly Sandwich Shop: Buy any entrée and get one free when you mention it’s Tax Day at any Potbelly shop (there’s one just off Exchange Place).
Sake and Whisky Night at Ani Ramen (Tuesday)

Soul of Sake is a monthly event dedicated to pairing sake and whisky. Admission is $38/pp (online) or $42/pp (at the door). It includes two featured sakes, one featured Suntory whisky, appetizers, and your choice of a bowl of ramen.

Selena Birthday Party at LITM (Tuesday)

Let your heart go Bidi Bidi Bom Bom at LITM tonight as the bar celebrates the Queen of Tejano’s birthday with Selena-inspired drinks and food specials. DJ Eric Lazaro will be spinning Selena classics all night. Plus, a prize will be given to the “best dressed Selena” at the party.

Benefit Concert for Christchurch, NZ (Wednesday)

Music unites people and tonight’s “You Are Us” concert is a way for residents of NJ/NY to show their support for the victims of the March 15 attacks in Christchurch, NZ. All proceeds will benefit the Our People, Our City Fund, which was set up by the Christchurch Foundation to help those affected by the terror attacks. Tickets are $25/pp.

Luna 1-Year Anniversary Party (Thursday)

Throw a few back while enjoying some hearty pasta at Luna’s 1-year anniversary party. The restaurant is marking the occasion with an extended happy hour aka Full Moon Party. From 3pm till close you can order $8 cocktails, $5 draft beer, $5 wine, or $5 gin and tonics.

Fundraiser Concert at Lo-Fi (Thursday)

Throw back some drinks, nosh on some Detroit-style pizza, and rock out to a performance by The Hudson City Rats and Dave Calamoneri during Lo-Fi’s Paws for the Cause show. Admission is $5/pp at the door and funds will benefit the Liberty Humane Society.

Adam Pally Show at Porta (Thursday)

Part wine tasting, part talk show, and part pop-up shop — Adam Pally’s Vino Diesel is an hour-long improv show where Pally learns about wine while interacting with diners. The event is coming to Porta for the night. There’s a $20 food/drink minimum during the show.

The Ashford Autism Awareness Dinner (Thursday)

Downtown’s Smile Preschool and the Historic Downtown Special Improvement District (HDSID) are hosting an Autism Awareness Fundraiser Dinner at The Ashford tonight. Admission is $75/pp for a buffet dinner at The Ashford.

Butler Cafe Launches New Menu Inside CoolVines Powerhouse (Friday)

Butler Cafe is launching a new menu today offering sweets and pastries from Choc-O-Pain. The new menu will be available at 4pm. Stick around till 6pm for a tasting of Hungarian wines with the owner of Palinkerie / Fine Hungarian Imports.
