Best Things to Do in Jersey City This Week: 4th of July Edition

It’s a short work week for most of us and if you’ve got Independence Day parties on your mind, you’ve come to the right place. From Midnight Market’s Fireworks Cruise to the 4th Annual Freedom & Fireworks Festival at Exchange Place — here are you best options for celebrating the 4th throughout downtown.

Midnight Market Fireworks Cruise: Midnight Market on a boat? Sign us up! The foodies behind Midnight Market are hosting an all-inclusive 4th of July Fireworks Cruise. The 4-hour cruise departs from Weehawken and includes appetizers and drinks for the duration of the cruise. Tickets are $225/pp (additional fees apply) or $400 per couple.

Freedom & Fireworks Festival: Forget the government shutdown. The 4th Annual Freedom & Fireworks Festival is still on, but rather than celebrate at Liberty State Park, Mayor Fulop has moved the party to Exchange Place (along Hudson Street). The all-day festival will include carnival rides, 20+ food trucks, a South House beer garden, and live music with Kool & the Gang headlining. It’ll all culminate with a nighttime fireworks show by Grucci set against the New York skyline.

Surf City All-Day 4th of July Party: Feast on chef Robazetti’s seafood specials as you watch the fireworks from the comforts of downtown’s Surf City. The outdoor bar/restaurant will open at 12pm and seats will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Lutze Biergarten 4th of July Party: The Lutze Biergarten will be at the center of this year’s 4th of July Party. Grab a lawn chair and enjoy the New York views with a craft beer, glass of wine, or their newly announced flavored margaritas.

Halifax 4th of July Specials: Don’t have a backyard for a 4th of July BBQ? Head to Halifax at the W Hotel in Hoboken for all-day 4th of July specials. The waterfront restaurant will be open from 11am to 10pm and specials include $1 oysters, $6 cocktails, and a $12 Halifax Burger & Beer special.
