What you need to know for Monday, April 13:
1: Jersey City has 2,469 confirmed COVID-19 cases (up from 2,284) and 99 deaths (up from 81). The city didn’t update their COVID-19 dashboard on Sunday, so these are the numbers as of Saturday. —COVID-19 JC Stats
2: Strong thunderstorms and wind gusts of up to 70 mph are expected for Monday, April 13. The high winds could lead to knocked down trees and moderate risks of power outages. 3: New Jersey currently has 61,850 positive COVID-19 cases (up from 58,151) with 2,350 deaths (up from 2,183). —NJ Dept. of Health
- (Note: Some counties are performing more tests than others, which could be contributing to the sharp increase in positive cases).
4: Mayor Fulop has announced the launch of a local relief fund for the city’s small businesses, first responders, health care workers, low-income families, and seniors. The fund is currently accepting private donations with the goal of reaching $3m (it’s currently at $1.5m). —JC Relief Fund
Where can you get coronavirus testing in Jersey City?
- Jersey City has two coronavirus testing facilities open 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm.
- You must call (201) 547-5535 to make an appointment.
- A walk-up center is located at the JC Fire Headquarters at 465 Marin Boulevard.
- A drive-thru testing facility is located at 575 Route 440.
- Grocery store workers and health care workers will be tested first.
