It’s a busy weekend in Jersey City with plenty of grand openings, dinner parties, and even a pop-up market. Here are the events we’re most excited about as we enter the final weekend of April.

Grand Openings/Sales

What: Van Vorst Farmers’ Market Returns
When: Saturday, April 27 from 8am to 2pm
Where: Van Vorst Park
Market season kicks off in Jersey City today with the return of the Van Vorst Farmers’ Market. Local veggies, coffee, meat, bread, and Shmonuts Donuts will be at the park.

What: Sober Shot Grand Opening BOGO Sale
When: Saturday, April 27 at 9am
Where: 514 Jersey Avenue
From sparkling espresso to butterfly pea flower tea — Sober Shot is a new cafe located next to Würstbar. Welcome them to the neighborhood and try some of their signature drinks, which will be BOGO during their grand opening.

What: Tony Boloneys $1 Sub/Slice Day
When: Saturday, April 27 from 11am to 11pm
Where: 363 Grove Street
Tony Boloneys Jersey City is throwing a grand opening party and offering $1 slices and $1 subs all day. All you need to do is show them that you’re a follower on Instagram.

What: Core Indoor Cycling
When: Saturday & Sunday
Where: Brunswick Center at 189 Brunswick Street
What better way to burn off those calories than with a vicious spin class at the newly opened Core Indoor Cycling. Their grand opening weekend will include a free class, open house, discounts, and more.

Events & More

What: Yelp Harborside 70s Foodie Party
When: Friday, April 26 from 6pm to 8pm
Where: Harborside Atrium
Yelp is throwing a giant, 70s-themed party at the Harborside Atrium. Dozens of food vendors will be there including Broa, Bucket & Bay, Talde, Bang Cookies, Ainsworth Hoboken, The Ashford, and more. The event is free, but a $10-$15 donation is encouraged to benefit Canine Companions for Independence. A Yelp account is needed to RSVP. (Piggyback Bar will provide the cash bar for the night).

What: Mother Earth Festival/Fundraiser
When: Saturday, April 27 from 12pm to 6pm
Where: Harsimus Cove Cemetery at 435 Newark Ave
The Harsimus Cemetery’s annual Mother Earth Festival is back. The family-friendly fest features live music, local food vendors, urban farming, activities for kids, and more. Admission is $7 for adults or $5 for kids. All funds will benefit the Cemetery Preservation Mission.

What: Frankie South African Wine Night
When: Saturday, April 27 from 6pm
Where: 264 Grove Street
Frankie has been offering JH Meyer Signature Wines since day one. Tonight, the wine maker will be at the restaurant offering tastes of their new vintages. Bottoms up!

What: Lucky 7’s Beach Party Weekend
When: Friday through Saturday
Where: 322 Second Street
Lucky 7’s “Beach Party Weekend” is here and kicks off Friday night with a Brooklyn Brewery tap takeover. Beers on tap will include Summer Ale, East IPA, Bel Air Sour, Defender IPA, Better Angels, and more. Come back Saturday night for the Beach Dance Party.

What: Pop-Up Market at Corgi Spirits
When: Saturday & Sunday from 2pm to 7pm
Where: 1 Distillery Drive
Marketplace JC is hosting an outdoor market at Corgi Spirits this weekend. Confirmed vendors include Bash & Pop Records, Herbal Habits, Scrubs by Aida, Terrarium Guru, and more.

What: Dinner with Musicians at Whealth Cafe
When: Saturday, April 27 from 7pm to 10pm
Where: Whealth Cafe at Journal Squared/615 Pavonia Avenue
Whealth Cafe is hosting another wood-fire dinner at its JSQ cafe tonight. The 3-course dinner includes patatas bravas (!), wood-fired grass-fed ribeye, chicken satay, and more.   The BYOB, 3-course dinner is $55/pp. (Jersey Wine & Spirits is doing wine deliveries at the cafe).
