What: Lights for Liberty
When: Friday, July 12 from 7pm to 9pm
Where: Pedestrian Plaza
Lights for Liberty is a coalition of people protesting the inhumane conditions faced by migrants. The worldwide movement will hold a peaceful gathering here in Jersey City at the Pedestrian Mall from 7pm to 9pm.

What: Surf City Bastille Day Party
When: Friday to Sunday
Where: 1 Marin Boulevard
Celebrate Bastille Day by the waterfront. On Bastille Day weekend, Surfy City will offer a variety of specials, including a $12 moules et frites (mussels and fries) special.

Saturday Events
What: Bastille Day Block Party
When: Saturday, July 13 from 11am to 6pm
Where: 209 3rd Street (French American Academy)
The French Academy’s annual Bastille Day block party is back. The party will include French staples like croissants, macarons, cheese, music, and more. Participating vendors include Choc-O-Pain, Madame Claude Bis, Vogue Cafe, Atlas Public House, and New York’s OCabanon (seafood plate pictured).

What: Lucky 7’s Rock n’ Roll BBQ
When: Saturday, July 13 from 12pm to 3am
Where: 322 Second Street (on Coles)
It’s that time of year again! Lucky 7’s Annual BBQ has arrived bringing with it a full day of whiskey, live music, and cold beer. Live performances will take place outside the bar and will start at 12pm with sets from The Lo-Fi’s, The Skullers, Woke Robot, Teenage Halloween, and more.

What: Christmas in July Fundraiser
When: Saturday, July 13 from 12pm to 7pm
Where: Pedestrian Mall
Christmas in July is a fundraiser for autism awareness. The street party (located outside the Smile Pre-School Nursery) will include food, music, activities for kids, and face painting, gifts, and more.

What: JC Night Market at JSQ
When: Saturday, July 13 from 4pm to 10pm
Where: Journal Square Plaza
Jersey City Night Market is a free, outdoor market held twice a month through October 19. The kid- and pet-friendly event offers local eats, crafts by local vendors, and a bar area for adults. Vendors include My Yummy BBQ, The Flower Pot NJ, Waffle Totz, Jersey & Co. Gelato, and more.

What: Vault Allure Street Festival 2
When: Saturday, July 13 from 6:30pm to 10:30pm
Where: Palisade Ave & Bowers
Vault Allure is part music fest, street fest, and art fest — all rolled up into one. This weekend’s event (which is the second Vault Allure of 3 slated for this summer) includes food trucks, beer, wine, music, and more.

Sunday Events
What: Tahitian Dance Workout at Ironbound Performance
When: Sunday, July 14 from 12pm to 1pm
Where: 251 Newark Avenue
IPA is hosting its first Tahitian Dance Workout this Sunday. The inaugural class is free, but future classes (to be held Sundays) will cost $20/pp or three classes for $50. The class will be taught by New York-based Lei Pasifika.

Where: 1 Audrey Zapp Drive
The Summerfest Concert Series is a free event that takes place every Sunday and Tuesday evening at Liberty State Park. This Sunday, Lil Maceo will be performing funk and R&B.
