Get ready to melt away those winter blues. Jersey City’s first infrared sauna studio is slated to open next month at 172 Newark Avenue.
SW3AT Sauna Studio will be located on the 3rd floor of the Palace Drugs building.
Unlike traditional saunas, which use heat to warm your body from the outside in, infrared saunas use a form of radiant heat to warm your body directly rather than warming the air around you. They operate at a lower temperature — usually around 157 degrees — yet can cause a more vigorous sweat session since the heat travels deeper into the body.
Benefits run the gamut from joint pain relief to improved pulmonary function.
