South House will reopen in May
South House is coming back! The restaurant/bar announced via Instagram that it will reopen sometime in May. Located in the heart of the Jersey City Pedestrian Plaza, South House abruptly closed back in November announcing that it was looking for new management to take over the business. The restaurant, which had been a Jersey City staple since 2015, was known for its stiff cocktails and southern-inspired eats.
Call for new art installations on Central Avenue
The Central Avenue Special Improvement District is looking for artists who can turn Central Avenue into Jersey City’s premiere “art destination.” They’re looking for proposals for art installations on traffic boxes and walls. The new murals will join the existing murals along the bustling shopping corridor. More details are available on the Central Avenue SID homepage. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 30.
