A new vegan festival is coming to Jersey City this spring. Cannonball Productions’ Plantopia will celebrate Earth Day in Jersey City’s Liberty State Park on Saturday, April 22.
The plant-based festival, which starts touring the nation in San Diego on April 1, will feature a wide variety of food samples, beverages, competitions, and live music. The family-friendly event will also feature an Eco-Marketplace dedicated to local shopping.
“As the future of food is evolving, we created Plantopia to showcase the most innovative plant-based products,” said Cannonball Productions Founder/CEO Kate Levenstien. “Gone are the days of the crunchy, granola stereotypes that come with plant-based lifestyles.”
Tickets for Plantopia Jersey City start at $19. (Kids under 5 years of age can attend for free). Additionally, a portion of proceeds from all Plantopia events will be donated to non-profit organizations dedicated to supporting food education and providing plant-based foods to those who combat food insecurity.
In previous years, Cannonball Productions has also held its Bacon & Beer Classic here in Jersey City. You can follow Plantopia on Instagram for updates on their national tour.
