After a seven-year run at 24 Mercer Street, it appears that Kraverie BBQ & Crepes has closed.
For the past few days, the restaurant has stopped taking orders, disconnected its phone line, shuttered its website, and even taken down its Instagram account.
Kraverie was a unique blend of Korean BBQ and French crepes. The restaurant was the fusion of two well known Jersey City food trucks — the Krave food truck and Lucinda Creperie. Owners Christian Usher, Charles Heo, and the late Natalia Caicedo combined their concepts to create Kraverie.
For years, diners got to feast on the restaurant’s Korean tacos, kimchi fries, and extensive list of French crepes including a S’mores crepe and their ever-popular Korean crepe.
Attempts to contact Kraverie were not returned.
This is incredibly sad. Consistently great Korean fusion. What a loss to the neighborhood.
The original owners sold the business in early 2018 and apparently the new owner was unable to make it work. Very sad as this was indeed an institution in Jersey City.
