JSQ Lounge Launches Hospitality Night Specials

Monday nights are now Hospitality Nights at JSQ Lounge. Anyone who works in hospitality (ID required) can enjoy happy hour specials from 6pm till closing.

Fall Fundraiser at The Franklin (Tuesday)

The Franklin is hosting a fundraiser to benefit the Jersey City Reservoir Preservation Alliance. Tickets start at $55/pp and include hors d’oeuvres and buffet. (Plus, you get a sneak peek at the Reservoir’s future plans).

Fall Cocktail Menu Debuts at The Kitchen Step (Wednesday)

The Kitchen Step drops their fall cocktail menu today. Enjoy new drinks like The Duke — Duke Grand Cru whiskey, cinnamon maple syrup, angostura, and baked apple bitters served in a smoked glass with pomegranate ice cubes.

Italian Wine & Cheese Pairing (Thursday)

Jersey Wine & Spirits and Van Hook Cheese are teaming up for a class on Italian wine and cheese. The class, which will be held at the wine shop, will feature five pairings. Admission is $50/pp.

Cider Book Party at Würstbar (Thursday)

Journalist Jason Wilson — author of the Cider Revival — will be at Würstbar talking about his new book and tasting new Würstbar ciders.

Beer launch at Barcade (Thursday)

Barcade is releasing its latest beer — Rye Score 2.0. It’s described as a “German style Hefeweizen brewed with rye, notes of baking spices, wheat, and spicy banana — checking in at 7.0% ABV.”

Music Fest at Asana Soul Practice (Thursday)

Yoga studio Asana Soul Practice is hosting a mini music festival with three local Hudson County musicians including James Calleo, Julia Kirk, and Rob Nicholas Evanick. Admission is $20/pp. Non-members who purchase a ticket will receive a complimentary yoga class to use at a later time. The event is free for members.

Oktoberfest at Satis Bistro (Thursday)

Oktoberfest season is here and Satis is celebrating with a 4-course beer tasting paired with classic Oktoberfest hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $55/pp.

Oktoberfest at Zeppelin Hall (Friday)

Okotoberfest arrives at Zeppelin Hall this Friday with a Bavarian-inspired menu that includes everything from schnitzel to giant pretzels. Oktoberfest runs through October 20.

PierFest at Exchange Place (Friday)

PierFest is a series of four Latin jazz concerts held at the J. Owen Grundy Pier at Exchange Place. The concerts are all free and take place Fridays at 6pm. Tonight’s concert includes Andrea Brachfeld and Phoenix Rising Latin Jazz​ and Spanglish Fly.

Natural Wine Tasting at Riverview Wine (Saturday)

Ever wonder the differences between natural wine, organic wine, and biodynamic wine? Well, Riverview Wine will explain everything in its natural wine class/tasting.  You’ll taste 8 natural wines throughout the evening. Admission is $45. (Heads up, they’re also hosting a Croatian wine/food tasting on Saturday, October 12).

Bee’s Knees Week at The Vanguard

Harrison’s The Vanguard is celebrating Bee’s Knees Week. $1 from every Bee’s Knees cocktail will be donated to non-profit The Bee Cause Project. The Vanguard is located right outside the Harrison PATH station. (We recently visited The Vanguard and can say their cocktails and food are worth the short trek out of Jersey City.
