From a Bourdain-inspired fundraiser at Ani Ramen to an Argentine wine dinner at Broa Cafe — here are our top events for the last week of June.
Bowls for Bourdain at Ani Ramen (Monday)
Today would’ve been the late Anthony Bourdain’s 62nd birthday. To celebrate his life, Ani Ramen is hosting Bowls for Bourdain and will donate 100 percent of proceeds (from their Montclair and Jersey City restaurants) to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. We can’t think of a better reason to enjoy a bowl of ramen tonight.
Morning yoga at Hamilton Park (Tuesday)
Butterfly & Bird Yoga is hosting an outdoor yoga class at Hamilton Park. The 10am class will be held on the grass behind the tennis courts. The weekly class will be held through August 26. A $10 donation is appreciated.
Drink up for a good cause (Wednesday)
Today is World Refugee Day and to mark the occasion Corgi Spirits is hosting a fundraiser to benefit Church World Service Jersey City — a non-profit refugee resettlement agency dedicated to helping refugees. Tickets are $40/pp.
Full Moon party at Luna JC (Wednesday)
Luna’s Full Moon Party includes an all-night happy hour with $5 drinks and select dinner items at $7. The restaurant will also dim the lights so diners can eat by candlelight and under the shine of their faux moon. Reservations are required. (Also, we recommend confirming the date, as Luna’s Instagram story indicates Wednesday, June 26 — Wednesday is the 27th).
Argentine wine dinner at Broa (Thursday)
Portugal meets Argentina at Broa’s Argentine Winemake Dinner . The five-course dinner includes pairings by Argentina’s organic vineyard, Bodegas Vinecol. Admission is $79/pp.
CycleBar Jersey City grand opening (Thursday)
Get ready to sweat. Today is CycleBar Jersey City’s grand opening and you can sign up for free rides during their inaugural week (through July 4). Check out their daily schedule and reserve your spot online before they book up.
Jazz for Lunch returns to Harborside (Thursday)
Jersey City’s French jazz group Manouche Bag will be headlining today’s Jazz for Lunch at Harborside. Head over to the J. Owen Grundy Pier at 12pm to enjoy the free show.
Dinner with Musicians at Whealth Cafe (Friday)
Whealth Cafe is hosting a Dinner with Musicians event tonight — a pop-up dinner followed by an intimate musical performance rolled into one. Performing after the dinner will be Whealth founder himself, David Trotta. The BYOB, 3-course dinner is $55/pp.
