Jersey City non-profit Whole Spectrum Autism is kicking off its 7th annual “Light the Month Blue” event this Friday at City Hall (280 Grove Street). The event marks the start of Autism Acceptance Month with a flag raising at 12pm followed by the lighting of City Hall plaza at 7pm.
“We raise autism acceptance by hosting family-friendly, inclusive events throughout the year because autism isn’t just one day or one month — it is everyday-living for so many of us,” says Whole Spectrum Autism founder, Sherry Singh.
The charity will be joined by Mayor Steven Fulop and the Historic Downtown Special Improvement District (HDSID) as well as various local business owners. The event will provide local residents a chance to show they are an autism ally and meet some of the families who are receiving support from Whole Spectrum Autism.
