It’s the unofficial end of summer and if you’re settling in for a 3-day staycation, we’ve got you covered with a shortlist of where to eat and drink over the holiday weekend. From old standbys to new and noteworthy — here’s where to get your eats on this Labor Day weekend.
Score a free slice during Rustique’s 6th anniversary
Celebrate Rustique’s 6-year anniversary with a free slice of their delicious brick-oven pizza. You can snag your thin-crust slice from 12pm to 5pm on Friday. Take-out and dine-in only.
Check out Departed Soles’ new Ninja release
Call it the ultimate ode to the TMNT. Departed Soles’ New Jersey Ninja is a new beer that’s being described as a “hazy blonde with local honey and a touch of Japanese green tea.” Another new re-release is Rick Rolled-Oat Coffee Stout Version 2.0 (draft only), which is described as being a bit sweeter than DS’ traditional ModCup of Sole.
Grab a burger & beer at Hoboken Halifax
If you find yourself in the Mile Square City this weekend, head to Halifax Hoboken to take advantage of the restaurant’s Labor Day specials. Known for featuring locally-sourced veggies, meats, and seafood, Halifax is offering weekend diners three discounts: A Halifax burger and beer (or wine) combo for $15 (normally the burger alone is $15), select cocktails for $7, and $1.25 Rose Cove Oysters (normally $3+).
Get your drink on at Lo-Fi in the Heights
The masterminds behind downtown’s beloved Archer recently debuted their new bar Lo-Fi in the Heights. Lo-Fi will be open this weekend serving up delicious craft cocktails and beer. Their food truck line up for the weekend includes Puerto Rican eats from ME Casa Express on Friday and seafood bites from Angry Archie’s on Saturday.
