What: The Inaugural Jersey City Triathlon
When: Sunday, August 23rd at 7am
Where: Throughout downtown/Jersey City waterfront
The inaugural Jersey City Triathlon will take place this Sunday along the Jersey City waterfront. The race is divided into “sprint” (shorter) and “Olympic” (longer) courses for newbies and seasoned vets, respectively. (Check-in, registration, and packet pick-up happens Saturday, August 22nd). The swim is in a protected alcove in the Hudson River, followed by a cycling course throughout downtown Jersey City/Liberty State Park, and a run along the waterfront. Based on the site’s Facebook page, it looks like you can still enter/register for Sunday’s triathlon. You might even be able to do same-day registration (if you roll that way), but I’d recommend calling in advance. Admission fees are $160 (sprint course) and $180 (Olympic course). A part of the proceeds will go to the Jersey City Youth Foundation.
