All cheese, all the time. That’s the motto at Van Hook Outpost, a new walk-up sandwich counter serving up perfectly pressed grilled cheese sandwiches made from Van Hook Cheese’s curated collection of artisan cheeses.
Located at 232.5 Pavonia Avenue (next door to Madame Claude Wine), the tiny shop will be open 7 days a week from 11am to 7pm (11am to 6pm on Sundays).
The shop is small — it’s best described as a walk-up counter — however, Van Hook Outpost has two communal outdoor benches where you can sit and enjoy your sandwich al fresco.
Sandwiches currently offered include everything from a classic grilled cheese made with prairie breeze cheddar to a grilled cheese made with smoked duck and raclette. In addition to the oozy cheese sandwiches, Van Hook Outpost also offers drinks, chips, prepared sandwiches, and a small selection of cheeses from the flagship shop on Jersey Avenue.
