**The Jersey City Ballroom and Yelp are teaming up to offer a night of free dance lessons — and should you need it before hitting the dance floor — beer and wine. The event takes place on Thursday, May 26. There will be two dance lessons to choose from: The Waltz & Cha Cha Dance Class will run from 8.30pm till 9.30pm, followed by the Foxtrot & Swing Dance Class, which will go from 9.30pm till 10.30pm. Complimentary drinks will be provided by The Thirsty Quaker. Everyone must RSVP individually, so if you have a +1 they need to RSVP on their own. **On Wednesday, May 18, Third & Vine will host its first winemaker dinner. The dinner will feature Spanish winemakers Juan Antonio Ponce of Bodegas Ponce and Roberto Ijalba of Bodegas Santalba. There will a minimum of 8 wines served from these producers along with pintxos of jamón, morcilla, escabeche, boquerones, and more. The event costs $65 per person and starts at 6pm. **Runners, listen up. This weekend is the Newport 10k — a USATF-certified race that crosses most of downtown Jersey City and the waterfront. The race kicks off at 8.30am at Newport Town Square. On-site registration (which starts at 7am) is $40 per person, or register by end of day May 11 and pay $33. Proceeds of the race will be donated to the Jersey City Medical Center. If you’re feeling hardcore you can sign up for both the Newport 10k and the Liberty Half Marathon and save $5. —Newport 10k
**After a seemingly never-ending bout of clouds and rain, both Pacific Flea and 6th Borough Market are scheduled to make their season debuts this Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Pacific Flea runs from 11am till 6pm this Saturday, May 14 at 149 Pacific Avenue; 6th Borough Market debuts at its new location on Columbus and Hudson Street on Sunday, May 15 from 11am till 5pm.
