Under the Boot — a new speakeasy located next to sister restaurant Boots and Bones — is officially open. The cocktail bar soft opened last week (May 5) at 116 Newark Avenue.
While some speakeasies require that you walk through guarded entrances or unassuming façades, Under the Boot welcomes you with a bright, neon-colored boot that leads you into an opulent drinking den decked out with flowers, plush seating, and atmospheric lighting.
The clandestine lounge offers a menu that shines with spirit-forward craft cocktails like the Blind Tiger (Dos Hombres mezcal, Ancho Reyes, Aperol, Peach Cordial, fresh lime juice, agave) and Whiskey in the Woods (Great Jones bourbon, Averna, smoked peach maple, peach, Angostura Bitters). With a kitchen that remains open till 1am, Under the Boot also offers a late night food menu with options like wagyu beef sliders, avocado deviled eggs, oysters, and smoked salmon bites on ciabatta.
Under the Boot will be open Thursdays from 7pm to 2am and Fridays/Saturdays from 7pm to 3am.
