“Try This Now” puts the spotlight on a beverage, cocktail, appetizer, dessert, or meal I’ve recently had in downtown Jersey City that has surpassed all my expectations.
When it comes to pizza, Jersey City means serious business. Yet despite a barrage of many strong new contenders, the Sicilian pie at Rustique remains in a class of its own. The thick-cut pizza is made with a spicy tomato sauce that’s paired with chunks (not shreds) of homemade mozzarella and fresh basil. Every ingredient on this pie is in perfect balance and what comes out of the oven is pizza magic. The corner slices are especially crunchy. One pie is big enough to feed 3 or 4 very hungry adults.
