“Try This Now” puts the spotlight on a beverage, cocktail, appetizer, dessert, or meal I’ve recently had in downtown Jersey City that has surpassed all my expectations.
The right pie can make an ordinary holiday meal seem extraordinary. And that’s precisely what you can expect from Cocoa Bakery’s irresistible pecan pie. The pie is technically a pecan honey caramel tart, and as you can see from the photo above — it’s not your typical pecan pie. In fact, it’s among the most elegant-looking pecan pies I’ve seen. Fortunately, the pie tastes as good as it looks. It’s very sweet, nutty, and buttery. The caramel is very subtle, instead I detected a lovely maple-like finish with each bite. It’s a thin pie, but there’s definitely enough to feed five to six adults. It’s the perfect end to any holiday meal.
