“Try This Now” puts the spotlight on a beverage, cocktail, appetizer, dessert, or meal I’ve recently had in downtown Jersey City that has surpassed all my expectations.
Summer is long gone, but Torico’s ice cream pies are a delicious treat any time of the year. The ice cream shop started offering these pies at the start of the month. They currently come in three flavors, each with a different type of ice cream and crust. There’s the Chocolate Peanut Butter with Vanilla Peanut Butter Crust, the Chocolate Cinnamon Brownie topped with Marshmallow with Chocolate Cookie Crust, and the Coffee with Heath Pieces and Fudge with Graham Cinnamon Crust. Shown above is the Chocolate Peanut Butter with Vanilla Peanut Butter Crust. The pie is absolutely decadent with a thick layer of creamy peanut butter, dabs of whipped cream, and chunks of dark chocolate. Underneath the peanut butter layer you’ll find generous servings of Torico’s delicious vanilla ice cream. Finally, the crust gives every bite a nice crispy crunch. Bottom line — if you love the ice cream, you’ll instantly fall for the pies.
