Tony Boloney’s Insta-famous pizzas are coming to the heart of downtown.
As reported by Have-A-Night, the creator of the $80 taco pizza is opening its third outpost here at 363 Grove Street — the space Casa Cubana was going to occupy before moving to the Heights.
Tony Boloney’s over-the-top creations are the work of owner and mad pizza scientist, Mike Hauke. Hauke’s original Atlantic City location opened during the construction of the Revel Casino and in 2014 Tony Boloney’s expanded into Hoboken.
For his third storefront, Hauke picked pizza hot spot downtown Jersey City.
Hauke is no stranger to competition, however, and a few years ago triumphed at Guy Fieri’s Cheesesteak Battle at Caesar’s Palace Atlantic City.
In addition to those Gram-worthy pizzas, Tony Boloney’s also serves up burritos, wings, subs, salads, and “mutz sticks,” including truffle mozzarella sticks which are made with homemade truffle mozzarella and truffle panko bread crumbs.
