Start your Friday with a free wine tasting at CoolVines Powerhouse. The wine shop will pour samples of wine from the Iberian Peninsula (and southern France). You can drop in anytime from 6pm to 8pm.

Where: Harborside Atrium
For even more wine — head to Jersey City’s Wine Fest at Harborside. Here you’ll get to taste dozens of wines from around the world including South America, Europe, and California. Food will be available for sale and there will also be live music throughout the night. Admission is $70/pp.

What: Mardi Gras Season at Zeppelin Hall

Where: 88 Liberty View Drive
Feast in everything that’s N’awlins-related during Zeppelin Hall’s Mardi Gras Festival. A special Cajun menu will be available through Sunday, March 3. It includes a crawfish boil, seafood gumbo, po’boys, and more. There will also be a Beatles tribute band playing classics from the Fab Four on Saturday night from 9pm to 1am.

Drink up for a good cause at McGinley Square Pub’s “Open Bark” fundraiser. For $30/pp (paid at the door), you get open bar access for 2 hours (draft beers and well drinks). Proceeds from the event will benefit the Liberty Humane Society.

Day of the Drones is a 2-day event for fans of drones. Watch drone races, take a 10-minute piloting class, see the latest in drone technology, or fly your own drone. Tickets start at $23.75 for general admission.

See Spot Rescued is holding a March Madness adoption event at K9dergarten today. Pups looking for their forever home include Morgan Fairchild (a 6-month old Boxer mix), Daphne Zuniga (a 10-month old German Shepherd mix), and Mel Brooks (a 5-year old Lab mix). What: The Brightside Tavern Film Festival

This 2-day film fest highlights indie films from local students and filmmakers. On Saturday, the festival will showcase the work of students based in or around Hudson County. On Sunday, audiences can enjoy movies by non-student indie filmmakers from around the world. Each night closes out with an awards ceremony. Tickets start at $9 and can be purchased here.
