Start the weekend with a gorgeous 5K run (or walk) along the Jersey City waterfront, led by avid runners David Trotta, founder of Whealth, and trainer/model, Jesse Barton. The casual run is open to all fitness levels and is followed by a quick cool down/meditation session and a healthy meal at the Whealth Harborside Cafe.

Summer’s first big food festival is finally here. Back for its 4th consecutive summer, this year’s Project: Eats festival will be bigger and better than previous years. Vendors include local favorites like Eemas Cuisine and House of Gains, as well as new vendors like New York’s Dulcinea Churros & Co., Slow & Low Whiskey Wagon, and vegetarian dishes from Salt + Seed.

What: Chilltown United Girls of Summer Fundraiser
When: Saturday, June 24 from 2pm – 6pm
Where: Porta at 135 Newark Avenue
Soak up the sun at Porta’s rooftop fundraiser, hosted by Chilltown United. WFMU DJ Sheila B. will be spinning summery 60s girl pop and Porta will provide the food and drinks. Best of all, funds raised will help the York Street Project purchase feminine hygiene products for women in need.

Check out downtown Jersey City’s newest restaurant dedicated to old-school hip hop and street art. The menu is as diverse as the city, with everything from Bison Tostadas to a Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Poké Bowl. [Ed. We especially liked the Tostones “Mac” Burger Sliders].

Where: The Grind Coffee Shop at 234 Suydam Avenue
The Grind Coffee Shop is hosting a brunch with food catered by Chef Eliott Sanchez. Tickets are $40/pp and it includes a 3-course brunch and open bar (bellinis or mimosa). The Uruguayan brunch will feature a buratta salad, Uruguayan tortilla with steak and tomatoes, and tres leches cake.
