What: Lobster Fest at Surf City

Where: 1 Marin Boulevard
Surf City is celebrating our favorite crustacean during its Lobster Palooza Festival. The waterfront bar is offering 17 different lobster entrees including Lobster Tacos, Lobster Thermidor, Lobster Ramen Soup, and Lobster Paella. There will also be whole lobster specials cooked Creole, Spanish, Mexican, or French style. The lobster party runs through Sunday, August 18.

What: Disney’s Christopher Robin Movie Screening
When: Friday, August 9 from 8:30pm
Where: J. Owen Grundy Pier (Exchange Place)
Kick off your weekend with a free movie screening of Disney’s Christopher Robin at the J. Owen Grundy Pier. The movie will start at sunset (around 8:30pm) and is free for all to attend.

Saturday Events
What: Jersey City Garden Tours
When: Saturday, August 10 from 9am
Where: Canco Park (70 Dey Street)
Canco Park Conservancy is hosting the first ever Jersey City Garden Tours featuring the public and private gardens of Jersey City. Tours will be given of 12 gardens including Van Vorst Park, Pershing Field Gardens, Ogden’s End Garden, and more. Plus, there will be a sunset cocktail and reception party at 6:30pm. The tours are free, but tickets for the fundraiser reception are $25/pp.

What: Powerhouse Arts & Wine Fest
When: Saturday, August 10 from 11am to 8pm
Where: Parking Lot at Warren & Morgan Street
From wine and chocolate to music and dance, the Powerhouse Arts & Wine Fest is a street festival collab between Jersey City’s Nimbus Dance Works and CoolVines. The all-day party will include wine, beer, and live music right outside the CoolVines Powerhouse shop. Even better, all funds raised will help Nimbus Dance complete their long-awaited Arts Center at the Lively. The event is free to attend, but you can also pay $49 for VIP tickets, which get you access to the VIP lounge, 10 wine/food tastings, private bathrooms, and more. What: Bucket & Bay Gelato-Making Class for Kids
When: Saturday, August 10 from 11am to 12pm
Where: 150 Bay Street
Drop off the kids at Bucket & Bay for a children only gelato-making workshop. The 1-hour class will have kids (ages 6 to 14) making their own batch of gelato. Tickets are $24 per child.

Where: Journal Square Plaza
Jersey City Night Market is a free, outdoor market held twice a month through October 19. The kid- and pet-friendly event offers local eats, crafts by local vendors, and a bar area for adults. Vendors this Saturday include Hold My Knots, Empanada Papa, Island Love Cakes, and more.

Where: Palisade Ave & Bowers
Vault Allure is part music fest, part street fest, and part art fest. This Saturday will be the final Vault Allure of the summer. You can expect plenty of food trucks, beer, wine, live music, and more.

What: Plates for Parks
When: Saturday, August 10 at 7pm
Where: Washington Park
Plates for Parks is a series of 3-course dinners held in public parks around Jersey City. Tonight’s al fresco dinner will be prepared by The Cliff’s chef Auggie Ramirez. Ramirez spent over a decade at Hoboken’s Anthony David’s and has been head chef at The Cliff for two years. Tickets to the BYOB dinner are $40/pp. Proceeds will support the Jersey City Parks Coalition.

Where: 1 Audrey Zapp Drive
The Summerfest Concert Series is a free event that takes place every Sunday and Tuesday evening at Liberty State Park. This Sunday, Demolition Brass Band will take the stage playing New Orleans style jazz.
