July 4th weekend has arrived and whether you’re celebrating a 4-day weekend or 2-day weekend, there’s a variety of indoor and outdoor events for everyone from cyclists to wine lovers.
What: Pokay Bowl Soft Opening

What: Riesling Tasting at CoolVines
When: Friday, June 30 from 6pm – 8pm
Where: CoolVines at 276 Grove Street
Usually crisp, sometimes sweet, there’s more to the riesling than you think. Join CoolVines for a free wine tasting in which you’ll get to sample three Mosel rieslings and a bottle of spätburgunder from Bavaria.

Where: The Grind Coffee Shop at 360 Communipaw Avenue
Get ready for another artist showcase at the Grind Coffee Shop. The BYOB event will feature music, art, and drinks.

What: Bike JC Light-Up Bike Ride
When: Friday, June 30 at 8pm
Where: Outside Grove PATH Station
Downtown’s first light-up bike ride of the season will take place tonight starting at Grove street. The informal — and casual — bike ride is a chance to meet up with other local cyclists and bike through parts of downtown. The only requirement — install as many nighttime lights as you can on your bike.

What: Whealth 5K Harborside Run/Walk
When: Saturday, July 1 at 10am
Where: Whealth Cafe at Harborside
Start the weekend with a gorgeous 5K run (or walk) along the Jersey City waterfront, led by avid runners David Trotta, founder of Whealth, and trainer/model, Jesse Barton. The casual run is open to all fitness levels and is followed by a quick cool down/meditation session and a healthy meal at the Whealth Harborside Cafe.

The LHS is making it easier than ever to bring a new four-legged friend into your life. On July 1, 2, and 4, all dogs over 40 pounds will be available for the reduced adoption fee of $17.76.
