Thursday Events

What: Pet Shop JC Live Music
When: Thursday, August 26 from 8pm
Where: 193 Newark Avenue
Live music is back at Pet Shop JC. This Thursday the bar will have live music/DJs on both floors. Downstairs at PS Wine Bar the music will begin at 8:30pm.

What: National Dog Day at Eira Cafe
When: Thursday, August 26 from 9am to 4:30pm
Where: 24 Mercer
Eira Cafe is celebrating National Dog Day by offering a free homemade peanut butter puppaccino to all doggos who visit the cafe today.

Friday Events

What: National Dog Day at The Cottage
When: Friday, August 26 from 6am to 6pm
Where: 136 Monticello Avenue
Bring your pupper to The Cottage on Friday to celebrate National Dog Day. All doggos will receive a free puppaccino.

What: Jersey City Pierfest at Exchange Place
When: Friday, August 27 from 6pm to 9pm
Where: J. Owen Grundy Pier
This Friday will mark the last Pier Fest concert of the summer. Musicians for Friday evening’s free performance include the Ivan Renta Latin Jazz Quintet and Grammy award-winning Doug Beavers.

Saturday Events

What: Wake & Rake Saturdays
When: Saturday, August 28 from 9am to 1pm
Where: Harsimus Cemetery at 435 Newark Avenue
Wake & Rake Saturdays is a volunteer opportunity to help clean and maintain the grounds at the Historic Harsimus Cemetery. Organized by Rock-It Docket, the event requires grounds work, landscaping, and planting activities. It’s an ongoing volunteer event that’ll be held every Saturday morning.

What: Smorgasburg Jersey City
When: Saturday, August 28 from 11am to 6pm
Where: 195 Hudson
Smorgasburg is back at Harborside for another weekend of eats. The outdoor market will offer food from numerous vendors including Cake Jars, Salt & Seed, Carlitos Barbecue Taqueria, D’Abruzzo, and more. The market will operate every Saturday through October. Admission is free and there will be various outdoor dining options throughout Harborside.

What: McGinley Square Live Music Series
When: Saturday, August 28 from 1pm to 5pm
Where: Intersection of Bergen Avenue & Montgomery
The McGinley Square Live Music Series is back with a free, outdoor performance by Matt Panayides. The free concerts will take place the last Saturday of every month.

What: Corgi Spirits Pride Party
When: Saturday, August 28 from 2pm to 8pm
Where: 1 Distillery Drive
Corgi Spirits is celebrating JC Pride with an all-day Pride party. There will be drag performers, burlesque dancers, a live DJ, tarot card readings, queer vendors, and more. Better yet, ticket proceeds will benefit Hudson Pride Center and the LGBTQ+ performers attending the event. Admission is $25/pp.

What: The Cottage Weekend Jazz Trio
When: Saturdays from 12pm to 3pm
Where: 136 Monticello Avenue
The Cottage Jersey City is hosting live musical performances every weekend. The socially distanced event is held in The Cottage’s outdoor patio. As a reminder, The Cottage is BYOB (and they offer killer pastries and brunch sandwiches).

Sunday Events

What: Street Art Bike Tour 2021
When: Sunday, August 29 from 12pm to 3:30pm
Where: Grove PATH Plaza
CANVS, the Jersey City Mural Arts Program, Mana Public Arts, and TimesUp New York are teaming up for a guide bike tour of the city’s most popular murals. Led by street art enthusiast Simon Kellman, the tour is a fun and interactive approach to city-wide art discovery. You’ll need to BYO bike. The group meets at 11:30am and departs at 12pm from the Grove PATH Plaza.

What: Movie Night at Dullboy
When: Sunday, August 29 at 8pm
Where: 364 Grove Street
Every Sunday night, Dullboy will be screening a movie in its patio. The movie will begin at 8pm. Make sure to give them a follow on Instagram to find out what movie they’ll show.
