What: Gaia & Loki Grand Opening at 12pm
Where: 346 Grove
New vegan restaurant Gaia & Loki opens to the public this afternoon. The restaurant will open from 12pm to 8pm.

What: Latham House reopening
Where: 299 Marin Boulevard
After closing for construction, Latham House officially reopens today. The restaurant will be open this weekend for brunch as well.

What: Jersey City Pierfest at Exchange Place
When: Friday, August 6 from 6pm to 9pm
Where: J. Owen Grundy Pier
Pierfest is a celebration of summer, music, and Jersey City. The free, outdoor festival will feature two stages of world-class Latin jazz, dance instruction, and food trucks. Pierfest will run every Friday in August from 6pm to 9pm.

What: Drive-In Movie Night (Avengers Endgame)
When: Friday, August 6 at 7:15pm
Where: 107 Morgan Street (parking lot adjacent to CoolVines Powerhouse)
The Exchange Place Alliance is hosting another drive-in movie night. Friday’s film will be Avengers: Endgame. Admission is $20 per car (no limit to how many people are in the car) or for those without a car it’s $10 per person. Gates will close at 8pm and no entry will be allowed after that time.

What: Corgi Spirits Live Music
When: Friday, August 6 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm
Where: 1 Distillery Drive
New York City-based rock band The Ritualists will perform at Corgi Spirits tonight. The show will be held at Corgi’s outdoor stage. Admission is free.

Gringo’s is celebrating JC Pride month with an all night disco party. You can expect classic disco and drink specials all night.

What: Live Music at Belle Ame Cafe
When: Saturday, July 17 from 11am to 2pm
Where: 76 Cottage Street
Start your weekend at the recently opened Belle Ame Cafe. The cafe is hosting a live/free musical performance by Robin Andre.

What: Smorgasburg Jersey City
When: Saturday, August 7 from 11am to 6pm
Where: 195 Hudson
Smorgasburg is back at Harborside for another weekend of eats. The outdoor market will offer food from numerous vendors including Big Mozz, Bisska, C Bao, Carlitos Barbecue Taqueria, D’Abruzzo, and Duck Season. The market will operate every Saturday through October. Admission is free and there will be various outdoor dining options throughout Harborside.

What: The Cottage Weekend Jazz Trio
When: Saturdays & Sundays from 12pm to 3pm
Where: 136 Monticello Avenue
The Cottage Jersey City is hosting live musical performances every weekend. The socially distanced event is held in The Cottage’s outdoor patio. As a reminder, The Cottage is BYOB (and they offer killer pastries and brunch sandwiches).

What: Cherry’s Lounge 40th Anniversary Party
When: Saturday, August 7 from 12pm to 8pm
Where: 102 MLK Drive
Cherry’s Lounge is celebrating its 40-year anniversary with an all-day party. (They’ve technically been in Jersey City for 41 years, but they’re celebrating their 40th since they couldn’t host a party during the pandemic). The party will feature music, entertainment, drinks, and more.

What: Corgi Spirits: 4th Annual Pride with Your Pup
When: Saturday, August 7 from 2pm to 6pm
Where: 1 Distillery Drive
August is Pride Month in Jersey City and Corgi Spirits is celebrating with a Doggy Pride Costume Contest. Extra points for owners who also dress to impress. Admission is $5/pp.

What: Goatchella at Harsimus Cemetery
When: Saturday, August 7 from 3pm to 10pm
Where: 435 Newark Avenue
Goatchella is a socially-distanced evening of live music designed to raise money for the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery. The concert is BYOB and you’re encouraged to bring your own blanket or chair. Admission is $25/pp or $30/pp at the gate.

Pet Shop JC is celebrating its 5-year anniversary party by turning its main room into a huge dance floor. Plus, enjoy happy hour specials all night long.

What: Matilda The Musical
When: Sunday, August 8 at 11am + 4pm
Where: White Eagle Hall at 337 Newark Avenue
Matilda The Musical is coming to White Eagle Hall. The show is being produced by Jersey City’s LUX Performing Arts, which is located at the Nimbus Arts Center. There will be showings at 11am and 4pm. General admission is $25/pp.

What: Jersey City Summerfest
When: Sunday, August 8 from 6pm to 8pm
Where: North Cove Field at Liberty State Park
Jersey City Summerfest is back. Every Sunday evening (along with Tuesday evenings) a free concert will be held at LSP. The concerts will take place through August with performers specializing in Motown, jazz, blues, vintage/classic Rock, Cuban dance, and more. This Sunday will feature Lil’ Maceo.

What: Movie Night at Dullboy
When: Sunday, August 8 at 8pm
Where: 364 Grove Street
