The Berry Lane Park Concert Series comes to a close for the 2023 season. This Thursday, Wilma Ann & the Jazz Disciples (jazz) will perform the final show.

What: Summer Spritz Cocktail Class at Maddy Rose

Where: 76 Audrey Zapp Drive
Maddy Rose is a new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant at Liberty House. The restaurant will host a cocktail-making class where you’ll learn to make three bubbly cocktails. (Lite bites will also be served). Admission is $75/pp (tax and service included).

What: Artist Showcase at Irma’s Cafe
When: Friday, August 18 from 6pm to 8pm
Where: 279 Central Avenue
Mexican/Salvadorean restaurant Irma’s Cafe is hosting an artist showcase. The cafe will spotlight three local artists who will be at the cafe to answer questions about their work. Their work will remain on display at the cafe for the month. The artists are @haide.mg, @Slaughter DK, and @xfuego.

Where: Riverview Fisk Park (Gazebo)
The Riverview Summer Music Series will offer a free performance by The Jeb Jones Band. The free show will be held at the Gazebo at Riverview Fisk Park.

What: Movies on the Pier by Exchange Place Alliance
When: Friday, August 18 at sunset
Where: J. Owen Grundy Park
The Exchange Place Alliance is hosting another night of Movies on the Pier. This Friday you’ll be able to catch a free screening of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. The movie starts at sunset (around 7:30pm). Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Saturday Events
What: Puerto Rican Parade & Festival
When: Saturday & Sunday from 12pm to 9pm
Where: Columbus Drive (btwn Marin & Warren)
From Puerto Rican eats to Puerto Rican music, Jersey City will get a touch of the Caribbean this weekend during the city’s Annual Puerto Rican Parade & Festival. The 2-day festival will take place on Columbus Drive from Marin to Warren. It’ll include food, music, food trucks, and more. On Sunday, there will be a parade (12pm) that will start at Lincoln Park.

What: Veuve & Oysters at The Stork Club
When: Saturday, August 19 from 1pm to 5pm
Where: 2 Chapel Avenue
The Stork Club is a new members-only rooftop bar located at Hudson House (above Felina Steak). Today, the rooftop bar is hosting an oysters and Veuve tasting. The event is open to non-members ($50/pp) and members ($40/pp). Each ticket includes two glasses of Veuve Cliquot and half price oysters. There will also be a photobooth, rosé and champagne tastings, giant jenga, cornhole, and free swag/giveaways.

What: Art @ Night at Surf City (JC Pride Edition)

Where: 1 Marin Boulevard
Celebrate Pride month at Surf City. The outdoor bar has teamed up with JC Pride for a night of drag performances, live DJs, live artist paintings, and more. Admission is $10/pp and includes a free drink.

What: Rugburn at Fox & Crow
When: Saturday, August 19 from 8pm to 10pm
Where: 594 Palisade Avenue
Rugburn is a high-energy funk/rock group from New Brunswick, NJ. The band is composed of four jazz performance graduates from Rutgers University, which includes Carter Vames on sax and synth, Josh Siegel on guitar, Ian Young on bass, and Jem Seidel on drums. Admission is $10/pp.

What: Barre3 Free Class at Van Vorst Park
When: Sunday, August 20 at 10am
Where: Van Vorst Park
Barre3 Jersey City will be hosting a free barre class at the gazebo at Van Vorst Park this morning. The 60-minute class will end with free samples from Juice Box.

What: Rooftop Yoga at The Stork Club
When: Sunday, August 20 from 11am to 1pm
Where: 2 Chapel Avenue
The Stork Club is a new members-only rooftop bar located at Hudson House (above Felina Steak). Today, the rooftop bar is hosting an outdoor yoga class led by Urban Souls. The event is open to non-members ($30/pp) and members ($24/pp).

What: Summerfest 2023 at LSP
When: Sunday, August 20 from 6pm to 8pm
Where: North Cove Field
The Summerfest Concert Series is a free event that takes place Sunday evenings at Liberty State Park. This Sunday is the last show with Kevin Hill & Secret Sound (jazz rock).
