Summer’s first holiday weekend is here and Jersey City will be busy with events, from downtown’s first quiet clubbing event at Transmission to Liberty State Park’s Freedom & Fireworks festival at Liberty State Park. Plus, discover new local eats and crafts at 6th Borough Market on Sunday.
What: Shut Up and Listen
When: Friday, July 1 at 9.30pm
Where: Transmission at 150 Bay Street
Quiet clubbing is a fun new way to club without making noise. Upon arriving at the event, you’re given a pair of wireless headphones. You can adjust the volume and choose between three different DJs by flipping a switch on the headphones. The headphones light up based on which DJ you’re listening to, so you can dance along with those listening to the same DJ as you. There will be three live DJs quietly spinning different genres of music. Tickets are $20 per person and include a spiked paleta by Cholita Paletas. If you’re curious what it may look/sound like, here’s a short video of Brookfield Place’s silent clubbing event from December.
