Downtown will be decked in rainbow colors this weekend as Jersey City celebrates the 16th Annual LGBT Pride Fest. Plus, celebrate hip-hop day at Exchange Place, take a food tour of downtown’s hottest restaurants, or bid summer goodbye at Van Vorst Park’s summer sendoff.
What: Van Vorst Park Summer Sendoff
When: Friday, August 26 from 7pm – 10.30pm

The Van Vorst Park Association invites you to bid August farewell this Friday during its Summer Sendoff event. The VVPA will provide the tables, utensils, entertainment, and dessert. You provide your dinner and drinks. Live music will be provided by Jersey City’s Con Vivo Music.

What: Drone Racing at Modcup
When: Friday, August 26 from 7.30pm – 9.30pm
Where: 479 Palisade Avenue
New Jersey’s best competitive drone racers will put their skills to the test inside Modcup’s roastery Friday evening. This free event is open to all.

What: Jersey City Hip Hop Day
When: Saturday, August 27 & Sunday August 28 from 11am – 2pm
Where: 1 Exchange Place
Jersey City Hip Hop Day is a free festival that pays tribute to the four elements of Hip Hop and New Jersey’s contribution to hop hop as a whole. The Festival will be held at Exchange Place and it’ll include emcee battles, graffiti artists, turntablism, and more.

What: 16th Annual Jersey City LGBT Pride Festival
When: Saturday, August 27 from 12pm – 8pm
Where: Newark Avenue (btw Grove and Jersey Ave)
There are plenty of LGBT events in Jersey City throughout the year, but the pièce de résistance is downtown’s annual pride festival, which runs from Grove to Jersey Avenue. The festival may wrap up at 8pm, but expect the celebration to continue into the wee hours of the morning.

What: Jersey Girls Food Tours Brunch N’ Booze Tour
When: Saturday, August 27 from 2pm – 5.30pm
Where: The Beacon at 20 Beacon Way
Jersey Girls Food Tours is celebrating its final tour of the summer this weekend. The Brunch ‘N Booze tour will visit 5 to 6 restaurants in downtown Jersey City with transportation provided by The Beacon. Tickets are $75 per person and the tour will include stops at some of the following: Hamilton Pork, GP’s Restaurant, Bucket & Bay Gelato, Departed Soles, Orale, and Maritime Parc.

What: LGBT Pride Festival After Party
When: Saturday, August 27 from 8pm – 3am
Where: Transmission at 150 Bay Street
Transmission will host this year’s LGBT After Party with live DJs and drink specials that will last all night long. The event is adults only with no cover charge.
