Celebrate the work of Jersey City’s talented artists and musicians this weekend during the Jersey City Art & Studio Tour. Pop-up galleries and shows will be held throughout the entire city starting with Friday night’s official launch party at the Flagship Gallery at 150 Pacific Avenue. Plus, check out Pacific Flea’s final market of the season, Con Vivo Music at JCity Realty, and a book signing/lecture at Jivamukti JC.

The 26th annual JCAST is a 3-day event that showcases the vibrant art work of local Jersey City artists. Pop-up galleries throughout the city will host dozens of galleries, performances, concerts, and more. The official kick-off party will be held at the JCAST 2016 Flagship Gallery.

Get ready to shop vintage, antiques, food, and more at the last Flea of the 2016 season. Vendors at the closing party will include Bash & Pop Records, Cholita Paletas, 37 Ferns, and Taproot Organics, among many more.

What: Outside/In Exhibit at Cast Iron Lofts
When: Saturday, October 8 from 1pm – 8pm
Where: Cast Iron Lofts at 300 Coles Street
Cast Iron Lofts will host a pop-up gallery celebrating the work of artists who are part of Jersey City’s Mural Arts Program. The gallery will feature over 85 works in a a 15,000 square-foot space. Artists whose work will be showcased include Emilio Florentine, Luca Cusolito, Mr. MustArt, Norman Kirby, and Queen Andrea, among many others. All works on display will also be available for purchase. If you miss it this weekend, the mural arts gallery will be open to the public on Saturdays throughout October.

As part of JCast 2016, Bucket & Bay will host an opening party for graphic novel, The Art of Siren’s Calling. Music will be provided by DJ Pastiche and of course there will be plenty of gelato to go around.

Where: JCity Realty Gallery at 109 Columbus Drive
Four of Con Vivo Music’s most well-known artists, including three founding members, will come together on Sunday to for a concert to be held at JCity Realty’s gallery space. Guests will also be able to browse artwork curated by Drawing Rooms.

What: Lecture and Book Signing at Jivamukti Jersey City
When: Sunday, October 9 from 3.30pm – 5.30pm
Where: Jivamukti Jersey City at 171 Newark Avenue
Join author and TED speaker, Devdutt Pattanaik, at Jivamukti Jersey City for a free lecture and book signing. Pattanaik’s lecture will talk about the relevance of Hindu and world mythology in modern times. Books mentioned in the lecture will include 7 Secrets of Vishnu, 7 Secrets of Shiva, 7 Secrets of the Goddess, and 7 Secrets from the Hindu Calendar Art.
