This Friday night is Transmission’s first Sound & Vision night — a night where guest DJs play the best in classic ’90s Britpop, New Wave, ’80s alternative, indie, synthpop, Manchester, and more. Admission is free before 11pm.

Where: Hudson County Community College at 161 Newkirk Street
Growing in Jersey City has assembled some of Jersey City’s healthiest professionals for a day dedicated to all things health and fitness. The day will include workout sessions, meal-planning sessions, kickboxing, yoga, meditation, and more. Speakers include chef Chris Diaz of House of Gains, local fitness model/instructor Jesse Barton, co-owner of 8 Springs Studio Dani Rubin, and Jessica Namit of Jessica Namit Yoga. Tickets are $55/pp and include breakfast/lunch, two workout sessions, and a gift bag. Plus, 10% of proceeds will benefit Jersey City’s St. Lucy’s Shelter.

When: Saturday, January 28 from 6pm – 10pm
Where: Harborside 3 Atrium
The JC Wine Fest is a celebration of all things wine with unlimited access to wine tastings and samplings. There will be wine samples from Argentina, Italy, Spain, Australia, the United States, and more. Food will also be provided by The Angry Crab, Van Hook Cheese, Milk Sugar Love, and Glazed & Confused.

Where: Jersey City, Hoboken, New York
Foodies and deal hunters can eat on the cheap this weekend thanks to Hudson Restaurant Week — a two-week event with lunch and dinner specials throughout Hudson County. Participating restaurants include The Kitchen Step, Raval, Bistro La Source, and Halifax Hoboken, among others. Across the Hudson, NYC Restaurant Week is also occurring simultaneously.
