Celebrate the last weekend of June with a Pride Party at The Pint or with a free screening of Jaws at Liberty State Park. Plus, check out this trio of recently opened spots in Jersey City.

New Places To Check Out

Cafe Peanut: Located at 586 Newark Avenue (across from the Brennan courthouse), Cafe Peanut is a cool, new cafe serving up all sorts of coffee and tea drinks — as well as food and pastries. It’s the perfect spot to chill with friends or by yourself.

Bread & Salt: A new pizzeria by acclaimed bread and pizza star Rick Easton, Bread & Salt takes over the space formerly occupied by Pizza Vita at 435 Palisade Avenue. The BYOB spot is offering pizza by the slice, Italian breads, and small plates. Make sure to hit up Riverview Wine before you dine.

Churrasqueira Europa: This old-school Portuguese restaurant is an underrated gem in Jersey City. The restaurant recently reopened under new management, but with the same staff and menu. It’s still pretty bare bones, but the meals are worth the trip. It’s at 542 Newark Avenue.

Ballyhoo Media boat in Jersey City

What: Free Jaws Screening at Liberty State Park
When: Saturday, June 29 at 8pm
Where: Liberty State Park
Chances are you might have seen the Ballyhoo Media boat cruising down the Hudson these past few months. The boat has a 60-foot-long and 20-foot-high LED screen used to show ads. This Saturday, however, the boat will dock behind the Statue of Liberty at Liberty State Park and show a free screening of Jaws. There will be speakers on land so you’ll be able to hear everything and the boat is big enough so that you should (theoretically) be able to see all the shark action from LSP.
